On Thursday 19th March, Year 3 visited the Witches Chase Cheese Factory for an excursion. This excursion supported the Farm to Table food production unit that we are currently learning about. The students listened to a special talk from Adam, the head cheese maker, as he explained the cheese making process, his daily routines and the packaging of the cheese. We were able to view the factory and machines they use through the window and ask questions about the processes. We then visited the cheese shop where we learnt about some very old cheese making appliances. We also tasted some different types of cheese and yoghurt that the factory produces. Thank you very much to the parents that attended the excursion and also to Meredith Morris, a year 3 parent, for having us at her cheese factory. It was a fantastic and very “smelly” excursion!
