Our Secondary students have already been undertaking training to compete in the prestigious Jim Stillman Cup as a part of the 48Km Kokoda Challenge, which takes place later in July. Mr Hoyne and Ms Newton will each take a team of 4 students across difficult terrain in the Gold Coast hinterland to replicate the conditions of our Kokoda Campaign in World War II and raise money for the Kokoda Youth Foundation. Students have been running after school and have begun weekend hikes in order to build up the fitness and mental resilience required for the event. Last weekend our teams hiked 17kmin Springbrook. Their hard work was rewarded with some spectacular views and waterfalls on one of Queensland’s most scenic hiking trails.
