This November our Student Representative Council will be running a Christmas Food Drive in order to support struggling Australian families. The Salvation Army works to support over 30, 000 families during the Christmas period and we will be making collections for their Christmas Hampers. It is hoped each student will be able to donate at least one non-perishable item, for example something like tinned food, treats, cereals, or a drink. Please note that the Salvation Army requests that you avoid no-name brands (such as black and gold etc, to ensure these battling families feel extra special); tinned goods preferably have a ring-pull lid; and items should have long expiry dates. For more info on what you can donate, please see their Schools Suggestions PDF. Donations can be given to your child’s classroom/form teacher. We are certain the struggling families will be very appreciative of our charitable efforts, thank you for your support! Emily Newton, Teacher.
