Today selected Instrumental Music students, the primary Choir and our secondary Vocal Group performed a concert for the residents at Roslyn Lodge, our local aged care facility. The students performed wonderfully! Our Primary Choir began with “The Song of the World’s Last Whale” and “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” – well done ladies on your first performance! The Vocal Group was a hit with “Pool Mashup” from Pitch Perfect, and later performed it again as an encore at the request of one of the residents. Our beginner flutes and clarinets performed lovely duets and trios, with some performing for the first time.

Our junior instrumentalists were calm and collected with a Christmas carol and “La Bamba,” and some combined with the seniors for a beautiful rendition of “Nearer My God To Thee.”

Our senior flutes wowed with residents with beautiful solos, duets and trios including “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovsky.

Well done to all! A big thank you to parents Tony Byrne and Elise Greig for accompanying us and transporting all the equipment, and Karen Guymer for helping to supervise the group and photographing the concert.

The residents asked us to come back soon – see you in 2017!
