Good afternoon parents and guardians,
The College opens its doors tomorrow from 11 am – 3 pm for our annual Open Day. All Primary classes will be open for visitors to come and view the happenings in the rooms. This year we also have a BBQ, morning/afternoon tea stall and activities outside the rooms to entertain the children. I will be meeting with families enrolled for our 2019 Prep class, so if you see families new to the College please help to make them feel welcome.
On Monday our Year 6 students are heading off with their teachers on the annual Sydney / Canberra Trip. I spoke with the students this morning and they are very excited to get started on their adventure!
I have been told that some parents are dropping off children in the bus stop along Beacon Road. Please refrain from doing so for safety reasons. Also, as these children were dropped off before the first teacher went on duty, a reminder that all children on campus before 8:15 am MUST attend our before school Learning Club.
Finally, our new administration building is starting to take shape. We are looking forward to moving in at the end of the year!

Radio Lollipop Donation
At the start of the Easter holidays, I visited the Gold Coast University Hospital with the four College captains to make our school donation to Radio Lollipop. We were very proud to represent everyone that donated during our free dress fundraising day and it felt amazing to hand over a cheque for $2000 to this worthwhile charity. Radio Lollipop has since contacted me to thank everyone from Tamborine Mountain College and they detailed how our money will go towards purchasing resources for the children who they care for while they are staying in hospital.

Primary Sports News
We had a big start to the term with our P-12 Cross Country Carnival. In less than ideal conditions, the students built resilience while doing their best in long distance running. The winners on the day were… Walton House! I also announced on this week’s assembly that Walton House have made it a double by winning the swimming carnival held on the last day of Term 1. Congratulations to all students who took part in the carnivals.
We started our Friday sports last week with coaches from the Gold Coast Suns instructing our children in AFL skills. Halfway through term, our focus switches to soccer with coaches accredited by the Brisbane Roar coming to visit.
We have also invested in more general sports equipment for the Primary:
