Mr Stevens (aka ‘The Gruffalo’)

Good afternoon parents and guardians,

Book Week wraps up today and what a week we have had.

Author Visit

Our visiting author, Dave Lowe, held writing workshops with every class in the Primary. His sessions were very engaging and the teachers mentioned how many of the classes immediately went back to write their own great stories.

Primary Captains Julian and Lily with Dave Lowe

The workshops were designed to be fun and interesting

The older Primary students enjoyed Dave’s insights into the craft of writing

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair closed this afternoon at 3.20 pm. We have had a great number of families through and TMC will benefit from the credit raised to spend on our own books from Scholastic.

Dress Up Day – Primary and Secondary

Our book character dress up day was on Tuesday and we were excited to see our students and teachers in costumes. Dress up days are a great way for children to connect further with the curriculum, and they are a lot of fun! We will be holding another costume day on Wednesday, September 12, raising more funds for farmers in need by supporting the charity Drought Angels.

Digital Library

To start using the library, students need to download the Wheelers ePlatform App from either the iTunes store, Google Play or Windows store and use their College login. The App is free to download and use. Ebooks and audiobooks can be downloaded and stored for offline use.
With over a thousand fiction titles on offer, the TMC Digital Library has something for every interest area and reading level. Head to the website for more information on how to access it.
