Good afternoon parents and guardians,
TASS Parent Lounge will allow parents to sign in online to:
- view and update their child’s details
- view the School Calendar
- obtain their child’s Academic Reports (term 2 reports available online from Monday 25th June)
- upcoming features will include: online payments, booking and paying for excursions / camps, and view Student eDiaries (from 2019)
Feedback from schools that use the TASS Parent Lounge indicate that families all enjoy the increased access and information that it provides.
Our Primary teachers are currently finalising their end of semester report cards and the children are working hard and having fun until the end. A reminder that the students’ last day is next Wednesday, June 20.
I wish your family a safe and happy mid-year holiday.

Pyjama Party Disco, 5pm – 7pm Wednesday, June 20
Term 2 ends with our winter disco, this year themed ‘Pyjama Party’! Students are invited to come along on the evening of Wednesday, June 20 (the last student day) to have some fun with their friends. Children are to wear suitable pyjamas for dancing! Please make sure that your child has either slippers, ugg boots or closed-in shoes – no bare feet, thanks. I have also told students that they may bring an optional teddy bear or similar as long it is not their favourite ‘bear in the world’ – we would hate to see precious items go missing! Only bears clearly labelled with their owner’s name are permitted!!
Tickets being sold each day leading up to the disco for $5 – including entry to the disco, a sausage sizzle and popper. Children must be signed in and out by their parent or carer – please let your teacher know if you have made arrangements with another parent to collect your child.
Years 5 & 6 Opti-Minds Challenge
This year we’re looking at introducing a drama challenge to the Year 5 & 6 students. Opti-minds encourages students to challenge their thinking while cooperatively working in small groups. They write their own script to perform and organise as a group, and students also resource and create their own props. This is a six-week challenge with a regional performance on the August 25 at Griffith University. Due to the regional competition being on a Saturday, students will require parent consent to be able to participate in the Opti-minds challenge. Students are able to choose their own groups up to seven students, preferably from their own class. They have the option to practise during lunchtime on a Tuesday in the Annex or after school from 2:50- 4pm.
Please contact Michelle Criss if your child is interesting in joining Opti-minds or alternatively the group which they will be involved in. For more information please refer to the Opti-minds site: http://opti-minds.com/
TMC Early Learning Centre – Expressions of Interest for Pre-Prep
We are now accepting Expressions of Interest for 2019 Pre-Prep enrollments. Classes will be made up of children turning four by June 30 in the nominated year of enrollment. We currently have growing lists for 2019, 2020 and 2021, so please let us know if you are interested in one of these years, or beyond! Include your child’s name and date of birth, with a subject heading – Expressions of Interest for Pre-Prep.
New College Counsellor – Louise Peacock
Louise Peacock started at the College during the week and it is wonderful to work with someone that has a large amount of experience providing counselling services to children. She will be at the College each Wednesday and all families are eligible to access ten free-of-charge sessions with her per calendar year. Please contact me if you would like further information, or please refer to the email from TMC Admin on May 17.
