On Thursday we came together as a College community to mark a remarkable milestone, 30 years of Tamborine Mountain College!

Despite the sprinkle of rain that greeted us, nothing could dampen the spirit of this special occasion. In true TMC fashion, we embraced our mountain weather as a reminder that just like our College’s journey, every challenge brings growth, and every storm leads to sunshine.

Our 30-Year Anniversary Assembly was a heartfelt tribute to the visionaries who founded our school, the educators who have shaped generations, and the people—past and present—who continue to embody the TMC spirit. Through reflections, performances, and inspiring words, we celebrated 'Lighting up young minds for 30 years'.

As we look ahead to the next 30 years, we do so with gratitude, determination, and a commitment to shaping even brighter futures. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey, rain or shine, TMC continues to thrive!

No experience? No problem. We welcome students of all levels and provide mentorship from experienced debaters.

This coming week I will be hosting a webinar on how we utilize Mathspace in the secondary school in Years 7-10 to support student learning, and to empower parents and guardians with the ability to navigate and utilize the online platform from home with their child. This webinar will be hosted via Google meet and the details to join the meeting will soon be emailed out to all Year 7-10 parents/guardians. Keep a look out for this email and please join me online at 5.30pm on Wednesday the 5th of March.

Congratulations Kyle House on taking first place at the 2025 Secondary Cross Country Carnival. The event was a huge success, highlighting the competitive spirit of our students and the fantastic support from staff, student officials, and senior leaders.

From the very start, our students showed great House spirit in blue, red, and yellow, with the cheers and support for the runners creating an inspiring sense of community throughout the day. Our runners demonstrated determination and resilience in every race. The positive energy was contagious, making it an unforgettable experience for all.

A big thank you to our staff, student officials, and parents who helped make the day run smoothly. Your encouragement and support were vital to the carnival's success. A special mention goes to our Sports Captains and senior students, whose leadership and enthusiasm were key to creating a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie.

Congratulations to the following students who placed first, second or third in their age groups. They will be awarded ribbons at their next assembly:

On Wednesday of this week our HIA teams travelled to Hills College to compete in beach volleyball, beach soccer, and basketball. All students represented our college with pride and sportsmanship. Furthermore, all students utilised teamwork, resulting in success with TMC winning the first round of HIA.  Well done to all coaches and competitors!

Tamborine Mountain Netball Club are looking to welcome a few more players turning 7,8 or 9 in 2025. Training is held Thursday’s at 3:30pm at the TM Sport Ground, (Long Road).
