Direction of Flow is One Way

• All cars entering the car park must turn left. No cars are permitted to go straight or turn right

Pedestrian Crossings

• All pedestrians must use the marked zebra crossings. These are supervised during peak periods
• Crossing supervisors will alert drivers to stop. Pedestrians cross when the crossing supervisor halts the traffic, stands in the middle of the crossing and asks you to cross
• Parents must hold hands with young children when crossing
• Pedestrians should never cross in the red area in the map above next to the ELC

Driver Behaviour

• Drivers must come to a complete stop when the crossing guard turns their sign from Slow to STOP. Only when the car is stopped will the crossing supervisor walk out onto the crossing
• Drivers must wait until the crossing supervisor indicates they can resume driving when they have left the crossing, turned their sign back to Slow, and waved them through
• All drivers must strictly adhere to the signed speed limit of 10 kmph. Children may behave unexpectedly and without thought for consequence
• Always use your indicator and give a 'thank you' wave if someone lets you in
• Do not cover the center yellow line that is used by pedestrians with your boot, towbar or bull bar

Pick Up / Drop Off Zone
The pick-up / drop off zone is the heart of the car park - when it is flowing well, the car park flows well.

• Parents must not sit and wait for children in the pick up / drop off zone. If your child is not already there, you must park in a centre car space or do a lap around the car park
• Drive to the front space whenever possible
• Children must get out of and hop into cars on the footpath side (left side of cars) Children sitting on the right side back seat must slide over and hop out the left door

We have had a number of confirmed cases of whooping cough in students notified to the College. Thank you to the families for letting us know.

Whooping cough is a bacterial infection and is best prevented with vaccination. Most hospitalisations from whooping cough happen in babies who are not old enough to receive all the vaccine doses. Whooping cough is a notifiable illness. 

Children who have whooping cough must be excluded from school for 5 days after starting appropriate antibiotics or for 21 days from onset of cough AND confirmed that they are not infectious.

If your child has an undiagnosed cough, please do not send them to school until they are feeling better or they have the all clear from a doctor.

A Sea of Hands

 This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme is “Now More Than Ever”.

Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.

Hands have been imaged by Aboriginal people from ancient times. These hands exist as traces in the landscape that reach out across time and within space to remind us of the most human connections to ancestors.

The Sea of Hands is a prominent Australian symbol used to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land, rights, justice and reconciliation.

Each hand is planted in the ground to show support for First Peoples.

Pre Prep were busy this week creating hand prints and hearts and wearing yellow to acknowledge and show awareness for indigenous children all around Australia.
