Open day
Experience the beauty of TMC's wholesome community at our Open Day on Saturday, May 18th, from 10am - 2pm. Our students will guide you on a tour of our stunning campus where you can meet our dedicated staff teachers. Join us for a delightful picnic lunch on the lawn from our food trucks, while your children enjoy free activities such as pony rides, petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, and an inflatable obstacle course. We can't wait to welcome you to the top of our mountain here at TMC!
Free Dress day
Next Tuesday (May 21st) is Cultural Diversity Day where we will celebrate all cultures at TMC. The students are welcome to dress up in the colours of their flag, cultural outfits or national sports’ teams. Please note that the students’ outfits are to be appropriate (no short shorts/exposed shoulders, exposed stomachs etc) and must wear enclosed shoes.
Athletics Carnival
The Years 3 to 6 Athletics Carnival will take place at Jimboomba again this year! On Friday May 31st we will all make our way down the mountain in the school bus to showcase our excellent long jump, discus, shot put and track running skills! Mr. Bourke will send out more information closer to the date! Please also keep an eye out for your child’s invitation in Parent Lounge.
Midterm, where are we at?
English - We have been working on writing persuasive texts this term. We will soon start writing a persuasive text, and practicing our presentations.
Maths - We are fully embracing fractions and will be moving into decimals and percentages soon.
Science - We are continuingly amazed how wonderful matter is and seeing first hand how gases take up space and how we can scientifically determine which three characteristics we observe to determine what state matter is in. We are now looking at transitions between states and learning how to write a scientific experiment.
HASS - HASS is of course very excititing at the moment (see seperate heading for more information)
Health - We are looking at health. We looked at the six pilars or 'ant legs' of health, what it takes to build healthy habits, how do we prevent losing our health, and where can we turn to to look after our health.
Art- we are continuing to investigate what the foundations are of art. We are looking at lines, shapes, form and texture.
As always, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in your child's education. We are both incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful children and families.
Warm regards,
Ben Forbes & Robert Schönherr
