Camp

We are excited for our upcoming Year 5 & 6 camp at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre, from Wednesday 2nd April to Friday 3rd April (Week 10). Mr Stevens emailed families on Thursday with important camp details, including the three key steps to accepting your child’s invitation. Please check your inbox, and let us know if you did not receive the information.

Meet the Teacher Afternoon

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Meet the Teacher afternoon on Tuesday. It was wonderful to connect and share insights about the year ahead. The slideshow from the session was emailed to families on Wednesday. If you didn’t receive it, please let us know. We will get in touch with the parents who have requested an interview.

Tutorials

TMC offers after-school tutorials for extra assistance. Year 5 sessions run on Tuesdays until 3:30pm, focusing on number work in Maths this term. Tutorials run from Week 3 to Week 9, with no sessions in the first or last weeks of term. Invitations will be emailed to parents by the end of Week 2 if we feel your child would benefit.

HIA Sport 

Year 5 and 6 have the opportunity to represent TMC in HIA (Hinterland Independent Alliance) sporting competitions against Kooralbyn International School and Hills International College. The competitions take place once per term with each term being a different sport. Term 1 is Netball. If your child is interested, they will be playing in mixed teams of boys and girls. HIA netball will take place on Wednesday 5th March, Week 6. 

Harry Potter

This term, we are studying narrative writing in English. While we’ll read excerpts of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in class, students can borrow a copy to read at home at their own pace. We encourage parents to read parts with their child and discuss the story. Watching the movie in class this week sparked great excitement for our unit!

Google account

It’s possible for the students to log into their TMC (Google) accounts at home. Please make sure you add your child’s account if you are using a Google account yourself. The students can then switch to their accounts and automatically have access to all of their shortcuts. If you do not have a Google account the students can open any browser and go to Google.com.au to login.
