On the 28th of May, three Tamborine Mountain College Year 6 representatives travelled with Mr Stevens to the Gold Coast Youth Parliament (GCYP). The GCYP was an event organised by the QLD Parliament to engage young people in the legislative process. Schools from around the region nominated Year 6 students to speak on topics that affect children their age. Jesse Navarro, Clara Kelly and Jacob Wills were chosen to represent TMC. Each of the students delivered a speech to the Speaker of the House, who was represented by local Members of Parliament. The event was chaired by Grace Grace, the ALP Member for Brisbane Central. Jesse, Clara and Jacob each spoke beautifully and they gained a lot of confidence speaking in front of a large group of people.
