On Tuesday 9th June Riley and Jackson Davis along with Mr Byrnes attended the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Schools Connect Breakfast.  This was a unique opportunity to join GOLDOC at a function to officially welcome our school to the program and to share with us the exciting and unique journey we will embark on together towards 2018 and our city’s Commonwealth Games.

The aim of GC2018 Schools Connect is to engage and connect with students and the broader school community on the Gold Coast ensuring you are all informed, excited, enthusiastic and involved in GC2018.  The program will include opportunities for your school to participate in key GC2018 initiatives (Commonwealth Day, ‘years to go’, mascots, ticketing, volunteering, Queen’s Baton Relay, Commonwealth Games Village athlete/team welcome ceremonies etc.). It will also include opportunities for your students to enhance their cultural awareness about the 71 member nations and territories of the Commonwealth and to engage with a school in another Commonwealth country.
