Term 1 Week 7
P&F Meeting – Wednesday 18th March 2pm in Uniform Shop:
We hope to see as many parents as possible at our next meeting. It is a combined P&F for Primary and Secondary and a great opportunity to meet parents from both campuses as well as finding out more about the College. It is a pleasant get-together with tea, coffee and cake.
We are asking all students to bring in Easter eggs for our fabulous Easter raffle – this year we will hold major prizes for Primary and Secondary separately and many other raffle wins as well.
Primary Assembly on Friday:
It was a real pleasure to be at the primary assembly today and see our prep class perform and the presentation of awards was made. Lots of parents were in attendance which is so nice, so please be aware that you are always welcome.
Yr 12 University Showcase – Wednesday 18th March 1.30pm – 2.30pm:
Next week Yr 12 students have an opportunity to learn more about what is on offer at university if this is the pathway they choose to follow. The majority of our students do go onto university – as you are aware last year our College Dux was an OP1 and has followed this academic future.
We also cater for students who choose school-based traineeships / apprenticeships and TAFE courses – seniors have Fridays for this.
We are so proud that our Senior Team and Junior Team won the first round of the debating season. The Intermediate Team and other Junior Team represented the College very well but missed out on a win – better luck next time. We have a strong tradition in debating going through to the Finals and last year being in the Grand final at Bond University.
The College marches in the community on ANZAC Day. Although this is on Saturday 25th April and is deemed a public holiday it is our expectation that all students march. Please advise me via email if you have other commitments on this day – [email protected] This year is very important to commemorate the 100 year anniversary. Our College will also hold a special assembly on Thursday 23rd at 11.30am in which every student will receive a commemorative bronze coin.
Have a safe and enjoyable week-end
