Welcome back to Term 2 Week 1.

Teacher/Parent interviews – next Monday – parking on back oval (bring a torch). Ensure you keep to your appointment time. Primary teachers in hub and secondary teachers upstairs JW.  You can still book on-line http://www.tmc.qld.edu.au/parent-teacher-interviews/. Be aware that it is not compulsory to attend an interview unless a teacher has requested this on your child’s report. We did hold a “Meet the Teacher” night earlier in Term 1, which was a big success. The interview sessions are for particular issues/concerns. Of course you can make an appointment to see a teacher at a convenient time through-out the year if this particular night does not suit.

Primary Campus due for completion early June – we will move Primary classes across straight away. The new primary playground is ready for installation but of course we are dictated to by the current civil works going on – it will be installed when the project manager gives the green light. I believe that it will coincide with the completion of the project’s earthworks and our move across into the Primary Campus. TMC Board have approved next stage of development for Primary being Prep and Yr 1 buildings which are positioned in front of the existing building and adds another 4 classrooms to that campus – due for completion by semester 2 2016.

20Yr Anniversary Celebration is Saturday 25th July which will also include the official opening of the Primary.

Eduquest (Yr 6 from other schools- entering as individuals for this challenge day) will take place on Saturday 30th May – this does not involve current TMC students except student leaders and SRC members are required as helpers.

Yr 10 Work Experience is currently under review to maximise benefits for our students – it will still be in the last week of Term 3 but will undergo some changes. Details soon.

The College marches in the community on ANZAC Day. Although this is on Saturday 25th April and is deemed a public holiday it is our expectation that all students march. Please advise me via email if you have other commitments on this day – [email protected] At the end of the community march, students will be dismissed into the care of their parents for the ceremony, unlike in previous years when we all sat together (some parents may decide to take little ones home if you feel the ceremony will be taxing on them). Only Yr 12 Captains and Yr 6 Captains will stay and sit with Mrs Melbourne, Mr Stevens and Mrs Stevens for the ceremony.  Students are permitted to wear medals.

Have a safe and enjoyable week-end
