Term 3 Week 5.

Semester Two.

A busy week after the Snow Trip.

Seniors are gearing up for QCS test in early September and exam block for them will occur in the last week – schedule out soon. There is no exam block for other year levels – any assessment is done as part of class. There is no reporting this term, but Semester 2 reports are at end of year for all students except Yr 12, who receive official notifications and certificates through the Qld government.

The Tamborine Mountain Show is on at the end of this term and we have Primary entries this year, which is very exciting. There are a number of entries for individuals too so have look to see if something suits your child – they have been informed of these categories through their class/form teacher.

This is an important reminder for you to be aware that:

  • Friday 28th TMC closed due to Gold Coast Show – TMC closed for classes. TMC Holiday club will run this day if parents require this service.

NAPLAN results are in and TMC students should be very proud. In our secondary campus Yr 9 and Yr 7 did exceptionally well within all areas – reading, writing, spelling, grammar & punctuation, numeracy –  above State average and even exceeding other State and national averages. In our newly established primary campus we are very pleased with Yr 5 and Yr 3 efforts. Our students are a credit to their teachers and families. Well done to all.

Primary Campus 2016: TMC Board has approved next stage of development for Primary being Prep and Yr 1 buildings which are positioned in front of the existing building and adds another 4 classrooms to that campus – due for completion semester 2 2016.

Yr 10 Work Experience is currently under review to maximise benefits for our students – it will still be in the last week of Term 3 but will undergo some changes. The Work Studies teachers are initiating career research and student preparation for this week – some will go out to seek school-based traineeships and apprenticeships, others will focus on university opportunities during that week and others will look at experiencing the work force environment. Students will be actively involved in seeking out placements for this week – building skills and taking ownership and responsibility.  For information regarding work experience, please click the following link.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
