Term 2 Week 2.

Rob Nicholls, our Foundation Principal, passed away on 2nd May 2011. We gave our respects at the secondary assembly. He was a visionary and I know that he would have been so proud of the College’s progress and success.

House Cross-Country: Nicholls took out the Melbourne Cup for Secondary and the Primary winning House will be announced next week.

Leo Club: Congratulations to the recent induction of TMC students.

Primary Campus due for completion early June – we will move Primary classes across straight away. The new primary playground is ready for installation but of course we are dictated to by the current civil works going on – it will be installed when the project manager gives the green light. I believe that it will coincide with the completion of the project’s earthworks and our move across into the Primary Campus. TMC Board have approved next stage of development for Primary being Prep and Yr 1 buildings which are positioned in front of the existing building and adds another 4 classrooms to that campus – due for completion semester 2 2016.

20Yr Anniversary Celebration is Saturday 25th July which will also include the official opening of the Primary.

Eduquest (Yr 6 from other schools- entering as individuals for this challenge day) will take place on Saturday 30th May – this does not involve current TMC students except student leaders and SRC members are required as helpers.

Yr 10 Work Experience is currently under review to maximise benefits for our students – it will still be in the last week of Term 3 but will undergo some changes. Details soon.

ANZAC Day: Thank you to all who marched with the College. So many members of the community made positive remarks about our students – I was very proud. It was a very moving ceremony to mark 100 years.

P&F Meeting: Next Thursday 7th May at 2pm in Uniform Shop – all welcome.

Yr 11 Camp: Next week Tuesday to Friday on the Sunshine Coast- let’s hope for some sunshine!

French Morning Tea Yr 7 & 8: Following on from the fabulous Primary French Morning Tea we will experience similar next week for our junior secondary French classes.

Have a safe and enjoyable week-end

June Melbourne
