What a fantastic day! Our 20th Anniversary on Saturday was a resounding success and the weather was absolutely perfect. The rides, food, music and stalls made for a stunning celebration.
A really huge thank you must go to all our wonderful volunteers, Kev and Rhonda Stiff as well as Debbie Walatara who provided us with delicious hot food which we all enjoyed; Leigh and Glenn Bartlett who cooked the sausage sizzle and could really move to the music!; Laureen Cridge, Cath Heaton, Ginine & Damian Johannsen Weston, Rachel de Bruyn, Hala Dunbar, Clancy, Kirk, Georgia Mullins, Elise, Tony & Finley Grieg-Byrne (sorry if I have left anyone off) who served the best Devonshire Tea in a beautiful tearoom which they set up so beautifully; Robert Schonfisch who stepped up to help at the last minute; Mr Crawford who volunteered to be the “victim” who was water-bombed relentlessly but still managed to smile; The two lovely parents who made the fairy-floss (sorry 🙁 , I did not write down your names); Thanks also to our wonderful teachers and staff with their interesting and fun stalls and to all those parents and friends and students (past, present and future) who came to have fun. If I have left anyone off, I humbly apologise.
We are delighted to advise that Mr Michael Kyle, our Chairman and Mr Scott Buchholz, Federal Member for Wright, officially opened the new Primary Learning Centre, with the able assistance of Mr John Lamb, Director. We are now, officially, a P to 12 Campus in our 20th year!
To the Admin Team, Bev Kirk, Krista (Moneybags) Coughlan, Julie Davies and Lorraine Fretter….you were run off your feet but still managed to forge on.
A special thanks must be made to Starshots Surfers Paradise who donated two prizes valued at $946 (won by Paul Sippel) and $645 each (won by Robyn Durant);, Sue from Capanart Gallery who kindly donated a beautiful original watercolour valued at $500 (won by Terasia); George’s Seafood Restaurant who donated a voucher to the value of $50 (won by Isabella) and AMart Allsports who donated a voucher to the value of $20 (won by L Turvey). A huge thank you to Jenny Harding who pounded the pavement to get these donations. We are very grateful.
Last but not least, thanks to our Principal, Mrs June Melbourne, for her support and assistance in making this day so successful.
