Year 5 student, Ellie Johnson is competing in the Gaterade series Triathlon. This series is comprised of 6 races in total.
On Sunday, 27th September, Ellie competed in race one of the series, placing 8th out of a total of 49 competitors aged 10-11 years. On Sunday, 11th October, Ellie competed in the second race of the series at Raby Bay. Ellie placed 7th in this race. This result has now seen Ellie currently placed 20th out of a total of 157 competitors.
Ellie’s results from her race at Raby Bay showed that she had shaved a massive 2 minutes and 30 seconds of her first race time. Had Ellie managed to acheive this time in her first race, she have achieved a very convincing first place.
Ellie is feeling very motivated on the back of her last performance and is now training very hard with her main focus being to regain her fitness after a disappointing year of injuries.
The next race Ellie is due to compete in is the Noosa Triathlon. This is one of the major events of the year and attracts between 900 to 1000 entrants.
We wish Ellie the best of luck for her up and coming race.
