Daniel Pohlmann has been a member of Blenders Youth Chorus and Blenders (some may know them under the name Banana Blenders), for the past year. Both choruses are all male, singing acappella (without musical accompaniment).
With the choruses, Daniel has performed for an audience of 300 at Griffith University; an audience of 5000 at the Warner Brothers Christmas Carols; with the Salvation Army big band at the Brisbane Temple at Easter; with combined Choruses for “Voices in Paradise” which included an all day workshop teaching others how to sing a cappella. Earlier this year, they hosted and competed in the state finals on the Gold Coast and came second. BYC won their category, but Daniel says that’s because they were the only ones competing in that section! Conducted by Johnathon Albertini.

Watch out for Dan (second row, sixth from the left). And BYC competing
(second row, fourth from the left).
Daniel has recently been chosen to perform with choreography on the front row and next weekend will be attending a camp with vocal coaching to work their way up to the National Barbershop Harmony Competition in Newcastle this September. Make sure you catch him around the school and wish him well!
