The 7 VAL historians recently visited Dreamworld’s Corroboree to experience the ‘Welcome to Country’ and ‘Warrior Experience’ tours.
The students had an amazing time learning about Ancient Australian artifacts such as the Boomerang, the Nulla Nulla, Totem Poles and Hunting Spears. The students were exemplary in their enthusiasm for learning and the Dreamworld staff commented how wonderful it was to work with students who displayed so much passion for knowledge while asking a myriad of questions.
The highlight of the day for the students was attempting to start a fire the traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander way with two sticks and some kindling (under strict supervision of course). The highlight of the teacher’s day was ice cream and Tasmanian Devils.
