A one-day intensive Painting Workshop launched our Artist-in-Residency program.
Senior Visual Art and art extension students were thoroughly engaged with their Arts practice in a recent full-day intensive Painting Workshop. Before painting the subject of their choice, students explored a variety of painting techniques using acrylic paints with local artist, Jane Lovelock.
Equipped with knowledge of complimentary and tertiary colours, colour mixing, creating shadows and depth within a canvas as well as wet and dry painting techniques students created paintings of an exceptional standard.
At the end of the day, with the aesthetic of the paintings being so engaging and the subject matter so individual and completely delightful it was decided a number of the artworks created on the day will be made available for viewing at the Tamborine Mountain Show and other local events.
The Artist-in-Residency program continues with another Painting Workshop date soon to be announced.
