Eduquest is a tradition on the mountain and is truly a fabulous community event. It is an annual event for primary students to partake in challenges for TMC Scholarships for entering secondary education.

Canungra State School was the winning school. The school took out the major prize of the Trophy and a cheque for $1,000. Each Team member received an Eduquest medallion and an Eduquest bag full of educational prizes!

Six Tamborine Mountain College Scholarships were awarded by Mrs Melbourne, the Principal.

The top three students from Yr 7 on the day were:
1st– Jackson Kibble (Cedar Creek SS)
2nd– Miekah Crocker (Canungra SS)
3rd– Charlie-Jane Hamblyn (TMSS)

The top three students from Yr 6 on the day were:
1st– Meggan Jamieson (TMSS)
2nd– Kasey Wilson (Canungra SS)
3rd– Raidah Alam (Highland Reserve SS)

TMSS took out the Spirit Award which recognised that team’s efforts, cooperation and friendliness. They also took home an Eduquest bag of educational goodies!

Mrs Melbourne said that the talent and intelligence displayed by all the students from the primary schools indicates a high standard of education. It is now the  time to make decisions for next year’s education and Tamborine Mountain College offers excellent education in a caring and nurturing learning environment.

It was a great day, giving schools and teachers an opportunity to mix and compete in a real community event. Students also had the opportunity to see the talents of their teachers in the fun event “Teachers on the Spot”. Sarah Brown from Cedar Creek took out the “best” teacher prize. All participants on the day received an Eduquest gift bag.

Thanks was given to businesses which generously supported the event – The Polish Place, Belvedere on Main, Songbirds, The Bearded Dragon, Rainforest Skywalk, Laser-Skirmish, TMC Little Theatre, Brown Bros Vineyard, Getaway Day Spa, Symons Educational Books. It is truly wonderful when this support occurs for such a worthwhile event – we hope you in turn support these businesses too!
